Donations help Metsä Conservation Foundation permanently protect areas valuable to nature

Ddonations are used for the conservation of forests of high biodiversity value and connected habitats such as mires, cliffs and waters. Metsä Conservation Foundation always aims for permanent conservation.

The Foundation accepts donations from private individuals, companies and other actors under fundraising permit no. RA/2026/875.

Donations from private persons

As a private individual, you can make a donation to Metsä Conservation Foundation via bank transfer.

Company donations

Metsä Conservation Foundation aims to protect as much high biodiversity sites around Finland as possible. Company donations play an important role in the effectiveness and long-term continuity of our conservation work. A donation to forest conservation is a tangible act of corporate responsibility, demonstrating a commitment to protecting biodiversity. 

A company donation can be a one-off donation or a longer-term partnership. We will tailor a suitable form of donation for your company.

Fundraising Permit

The National Police Board of Finland granted Metsä Conservation Foundation a fundraising permit on 26 June 2026. The permit number is RA/2026/875. The permit is valid throughout Finland, excluding Åland, from 26 June 2026 onwards.

Funds raised through donations are used to protect areas of high biodiversity value. The funds may be used to pay conservation compensation to landowners, acquire properties for conservation purposes, and support conservation-related activities such as the assessment of forest sites. Funds may also be used for activities serving the public interest, including the production and publication of information on forest biodiversity, as well as activities directly supporting the Foundation’s public-benefit objectives, such as communications related to conservation work.
